Of Honey and Wildfires by Sarah Chorn

3.0

Impressive world-building, a fantasy Wild West, and the author has a beautiful way with language. The chapters jump through time (15 years ago, two weeks ago, back and forth between our two protagonists, with a third side character interjecting every once in a while) -- it was initially a bit irritating but I got used to it and when the timelines finally merged the story was excellent. That said, it was relentlessly grim, with few breaks in the tragedy. I'm not sure I'll be continuing with this author.
