The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

5.0

It's so fascinating to read the original source material of such a famous and enduring story. The characters of Jekyll and Hyde have quite fittingly taken on lives of their own, and after reading this I am struck by two thoughts, the first being that this story is really all about morality. That's interesting enough in its own right, but the exploration of duality in a single being is so forward, especially for the time that this was written. My second thought pertains to that, since I wonder what the average person thought of this story when it was written. I can't imagine what it would be like to read the story without knowing the ending, and I can only imagine it must have been quite shocking. Totally recommend, it's a quick read and well worth it
