A fun book, but the relationship started out really toxic. This same story could have been told from a healthy perspective. All of this kinky stuff can be done with consent. And the punishments in the beginning of the book were not fun, no matter how much Merikan wanted the reader to see it that way. But once the relationship is established it became much better.

The bi awakening portion was really interesting to read. His arbitrary rules of "it's not gay if-" and then he breaks it and moves the goalpost. Very realistic to how people rationalize things to themselves. I'm glad Hammer worked through it.
