Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

3.0

I really enjoy a good heist story, and any story in which takes down the rich. Six of Crows delivers a solid heist, and morally dubious but likeable characters. I thought there were too many characters -- we follow a team of six into an impenetrable fortress, but it would have been easier to follow had it been a team of four. I was charmed by some of the core characters -- Inej, the thief and spy, who can scale any building; Nina, former solider, angry and loving; Kaz, disabled mastermind, who thinks he hates everyone. Others I didn't find so memorable, and at times the narrative dragged, or got too caught up in its on cleverness. Still, this was good fun, a great distraction from the trials of life, and I'll definitely read the sequel.
