1.0

The stories were repetitive and slow, with largely spiritless characters. There was very little diversity, and further perpetrated the stereotype that Jamaica (and the islands) is this paradise with the only flaw of overbearing mothers. I do not believe the book has added anything new or creative to the genre. The only noteworthy story was the book’s namesake.
