The Last Chance Library by Freya Sampson
3.0
Read as an audiobook
More than anything, this book is a love letter of libraries. As someone who grew up an avid library user, I loved reading this book because it makes a lot of valid and interesting points about the importance of libraries. I keep thinking about Stanley and Chantelle and how the library gave them access to resource they sorely needed. I think too often we as a society forget the importance of a safe space with no shame and no judgement. This book reminded me of libraries' role in that.
The romance was a bit lacking. June and Alex weren't the greatest romance I've ever read.
But this book isn't about the romance. It's about a love of libraries and if you read it with that in mind, you'll love it.
