Sweet Destiny, by Rochelle Alers

3.0

I’m on Book 6 of The Eatons and I’ve been devouring this series chronologically, so it’s already a given that I think this series is fabulous and I’m a huge fan of this author’s work. If you’re a reader of this series, by now, you already know to expect decadent descriptions of food and decorations and culture and history that are woven through a low angst, low tension plot that yet still manages to be compelling and interesting and super sexy.

The premise of this is that newly-qualified Doctor Mia Eaton moves to small town West Virginia to do her (medical) residency and there finds mistrustful, somewhat belligerent sheriff, Kenyon Chandler, there disapproving of her ability to cope with small town life. It’s everything my “Hallmark Channel Western Romance-movie loving, Denise Robbins outback romance-toting, P&P is my absolute fave” self loves and I really enjoyed this book.

I feel like these books don’t feel modern at all even though they are definitely contemporary, but they are beyond entertaining and remind me of the first romances I read. Love this series and can’t wait to read the next one!
