Riot by Jamie Shaw

3.0

Riot is book two in the Mayhem series, but can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone.

I'm a sucker for cool book covers and stories about music, but throw in a hot tattooed rocker who snores like a Rottweiler and I am SOLD! Seriously, nothing makes a character more believable and loveable (to me) than giving him/her a totally mundane flaw.

I liked the writing, found the characters and the storyline interesting albeit a little predictable. By the way, "predictable" is NOT a dirty word as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes I like not knowing how a story will end and other times, I WANT to know that, despite the drama, I'm going to get lots of kissing and a happy ending. (Riot has both in case you were wondering.)

I loved the friendships in this story, between Dee and Rowan as well as the guys in the band. Dee and Joel have a complicated relationship, one that involves laughter and tears and some interesting sexy times.

And while I may not have agreed with some of the choices Dee and Joel made, I could understand why they made them.

Fast, fun and full of emotion, Riot is the kind of story New Adult fans crave and I'm excited to see what comes next!
