This is a unique book that tells the story of the first pilgrim colony in Plymouth. I liked how the author elevated the voices of the female characters in the story, and it was interesting to learn more about the history and what life was like in that time. The plot did move slowly, though, and it felt like it was building up the entire time to a huge climax that ended up feeling a little lackluster. It also could have been a richer story with more inclusion of Native American perspectives.
