I'll Be Your Blue Sky by Marisa de los Santos

2.0

What an odd book. I'm starting to get frustrated by authors that have great historical fiction concepts but ruin them by telling a mediocre present-day tale instead of focusing on the historical story. That's exactly what happened with this book as the author forced this into her odd "series" based on these characters. Clare's story was predictable and forced and I was frustrated by the lack of Evelyn story, especially at the end of the book when everything switched to Clare. Everything ended so conveniently that it almost made a farce out of women in real domestic abuse situations. I hope the author is able to put these characters away now and move onto something else.
