This book is an ARC I received.
I think it is harder to write a thoughtful review on a book that I absolutely loved. How am I supposed to put into words that this book broke me and picked me up again? I don‘t even know how to write something without it being nonsensical rambling, about how much I love this book, but I‘m going to try.
Kit & Basie is a cozy fantasy and its one of the best cozy fantasy‘s I‘ve read in a while.
Right at the beginning I got sucked into the story, by seeing Basie realise that his mother has passed away. The only other immortal he knows. The author wrote this in such an emotional way that I was already on the verge of tears in the first few chapters.
It was so sweet to see how much the people from his town cared for each other and for Basie.
This book deals amazing with grief and friendship and the relationships you form in a small town. The writing is really beautiful and it made me feel all the emotions.
This book is definitely my favourite boo I‘ve read this year and I encourage everyone to read it! Tess Carletta has such a way with words.
