A Sisterhood of Secret Ambitions by Sheena Boekweg

inspiring lighthearted medium-paced

3.0

Overall, I had a good time reading this. It just fell a little short. I loved the concept of it. I enjoyed the overall feminist message. The way the sisterhood used gender expectations to communicate with each other and place women in position to guide men of power. The competition between the girls vying for the attention of a future presidential candidate felt almost bacheloresque. I liked that there were different ambitions, plus size, anxiety, and LGBTQIA rep. However, the relationships and conflict didn't feel very developed. The MC felt very inconsistent, and her wavering back and forth got very repetitive. I just needed a little bit more from this. Still, I loved the sisterhood aspect, and it was a quick and fun read.
