Oh this was cute. And I'm actually kind of glad I didn't listen to the novellas in the order they slot into the main volumes of the series chronologically because it's a very different flow to the storytelling.
Ingrid's story is very Maleficent and I love the way Rob actively pursues her without being overbearing or creepy. He makes big gestures that are genuinely thoughtful and steps back whenever Ingrid becomes skittish and if that isn't just the definition of a fictional man written by a female author we all know and love, I don't know what is.
It was nice to fill in some side character back story gaps as well but it's not essential reading for the main, overarching plot of the Mystic Bayou series.
