Season of Secrets by Melissa McSherry

4.0

Season of Secrets is a dark hockey romance written by Melissa McSherry and Dana Leeann. This spicy hockey novella hits the spot and is great for a quick read. I read it in one sitting.

The book follows Duke, the NYU Nakos hockey team captain and trust fund kid, and Aspen, his rival’s baby sister. Duke’s life is going according to plan—school, hockey, social life, and dating. His plans of going to the NHL almost come to a screeching halt when Aspen strolls into his life. She is everything he wanted and everything he couldn’t have. Is he willing to risk it all?

Aspen, a veterinary student, has avoided hockey players all her life. Having a star hockey player as a brother and grouping up around the sport, she knows just how bad they can be. Needing a night to cut loose and have fun, she never expected to catch the eye of a mysterious stranger. Unable to get him off her mind, she has to know more. Spotting him at a lux event, she discovers how off-limits he is and how delicious he can be. When a proposition is made, a relationship in secret, how could she refuse? What could possibly go wrong?

I enjoyed the allure of wanting something that you are not supposed to have. The spice was great! I loved the possessive, touch her, and die vibes. You could feel the intensity between Aspen and Duke.

Thank you to Melissa McSherry and Dana Leeann for gifting me an eARC of Season of Secrets. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
