This book was not for me. I know others really enjoyed it but it took me about 60% of the way through to “get into it” but even then I feel like I wasn’t into it I just didn’t have to keep rewinding my audiobook anymore. It was confusing, rape and sexual assault thrown in for what felt like shock value, overall it was not for me. I will not be reading the sequel. I would’ve DNFed but wanted to finish it for book club and I have a hard time DNFing too.
It had an interesting premise with magical societies at Yale (think fraternities/sororities), but poorly executed.
