The Sibyl by Pär Lagerkvist

4.0

There’s something so effortless and ancient about the way this story is told. It’s captivating and engaging, as well as mysterious and romantic. I’ve never heard Delphi told like this, and it’s truly a story that holds the reader. The perspective is one that tells real stories of real fears from honest and ordinary people, including the Oracle.

She is told as a victim of her circumstances, betrayed and abused by her position and by love. Faith is questioned and rejected, lost and found. Truly a human story.
