A dog builds himself a robot friend, but after the robot gets rusty during a day at the beach, the dog has to leave him behind...
Younger kids will probably like the cute animals and robots and the silly moments, but I think this would be best appreciated by those who've loved and lost people in friendships or romantic relationships. Despite being wordless, this book says a lot, and it has a lot of emotional depth without being saccharine.
A good choice for readers of any age who are growing apart from their friends or going through a breakup, or for anyone who wants to see a well-done example of a story told entirely through art.
