Good plot but the storytelling is lacking.

Honestly not much happened until the last 40 pages of the book. There’s a lot of potential but the writing kind of fell short. Still enjoyed it tho once I got through slow parts. Wouldn’t reread or necessarily recommend to a friend.
What was the point of her not having magic almost the whole book? Served no purpose.
