I read this book since it was on the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die list AND because it fulfilled the "read a book with a sandy/yellow cover" category for the GoodReads Summer Reading Challenge.

So, yeah, this book. It is a pessimistic take on relationships, tourism and more. Oh, and this book is definitely NC-17. Its told in the first person by a 40-something male protagonist who takes a trip to Thailand after his father dies.

The book is a cynical, misogynistic critique of modern Western society. Definitely not for everyone. I am still trying to figure out exactly where I land with this one.
