Captivated by Nora Roberts

3.0

Captivated exemplifies one reason why Nora Roberts broke the mold of stereotypical romance writers. Her heroines were not given to histrionics or swoons or emotional outbursts. They were rational and able to deal with a man as an equal, not as a "romance heroine." Morgana represents a Roberts' heroine.

Unfortunately I found the story of Captivated to be somewhat tedious. I expected things to happen, but nothing really did. Roberts writes extremely well, her prose is always a cut-above, although this time, it sometimes seemed a bit much.

Nash was a pretty forgettable hero and I'm afraid that Morgana, despite being strong-willed, didn't really offer much to save the story.

Considering the lack of action, the book should have been much shorter.

I'll continue with the series, hoping that things pick up.
