A book full of nuanced and complicated conversations about power, art, “cancel culture,” and academia. Our narrator is full of conflicting ideas and vanity and insecurity (she kind of sucked and I liked it), it was fun to inhibit her psychology for a little bit. Basically all of the characters are unlikeable but in a very juicy, authentic way. Something didn’t totally click for me with this one, I felt like the ending was kind of clunky or disconnected. Overall this was an interesting character study (and study of academia itself) but it didn’t necessarily blow me away.
