Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid

5.0

3/24 re-read: Technically, this is my fifth re-read and this book is perfection. I will be accepting no criticism at this time. I can't even fathom giving this book less than five stars. I literally got a tattoo to commemorate this book. I should be embarrassed about how much I love this book, but I'm not. Ilya is perfection. Shane is perfection. Together... you guessed it. Perfection. This is peak rivals to lovers/enemies to lovers. Ilya is hilarious and I love how unaffected he appears on the outside compared to how sweet and mushy he is inside. Shane is so sweet and wholesome and so easily embarrassed. I absolutely live for the fact that this love affair went on for so long and no one knew. *spoiler* Then, when people did find out, they were shocked that they were together, but then even more shocked that it had been happening for years. So fun! Oh and Ilya trying to make sense of American things is so funny. 5/5 spice levels because it's Shane and Ilya. There's nothing hotter.

Notes: rivals to lovers, enemies to lovers, long time secret relationship, blushing MC, gay awakening, bi rep, ESL, *spoiler* confessing love in another language

I absolutely loved this story! I was hooked on Ilya and Shane’s love story and I couldn’t put it down. It was surprisingly sweet. I fell in love with the characters easily. 5/5 spice levels.
