I really liked this book. Fletcher was endearing and a very interesting character. I felt like he had a lot of dedication and talent. Ignathius was cool. I liked him. I especially also like Sylva, Seraph, Othello, Attila, Berdon, and their demons. I hope Valens' summoner, Captain Lovett, will be ok. Also Fletcher, because that cliffhanger KILLED me! I definitely need to buy the next one!
Also, Fletcher's flashback dream and hand tattoo were innovative and awesome, definitely what made me give the book five stars - it was the extra push the book needed for it to go from 'good' to 'great/awesome'. :)

This was pretty fun. It's been almost exactly 4 years since I read this trilogy, but I remembered a bit more than I'd expected to. As before, the characters were very likable and fun. I liked Fletcher and Ignatius, as well as many of the others. The story was fun and innovative, sort of like Tolkien crossed with Harry Potter and an RPG game. I enjoyed reading it and found the pacing and writing to be decent. On to book 2! 4 stars.
