Father Christmas's Fake Beard by Terry Pratchett

3.0

A very quick, fun, silly read. I prefer Pratchett’s adult and YA books to his children’s stories — but also most of these were originally published in the ‘60s when he wrote the children’s column in his local newspaper, so much of it is not the experienced and honed Pratchett I love. His wit and humour are definitely present though. I imagine the stories would be fun to read to children.

But I have a bone to pick with whoever decided to compile the Blackbury stories out of order — the second one in this book makes reference to the third one having already happened. A small nitpick that doesn’t affect the quality of the actual stories, but makes the book seem careless in its curation.
