Prince of Dreams by Pippa DaCosta

5.0

Gah, this series is not shy about putting a readers heart through the wringer! This one sees our feisty hero and her harem of dangerous men scrambling to find a piece of Faerie's deadliest weapon. This time, it's told from two different perspectives: Kesh and Kellee's. Old characters are brought back and new monsters are unleashed, and the ending will leave readers clamouring for more.

The characters are even more complex than before. They often went back and forth between different aspects of their character and who they wanted to be, but I found it to be a compelling dynamic. I missed some of Talen, since this story was primarily focused on Kesh and her relationships between Kellee, Eledan, and Sirius, of all people, but I really enjoyed the Marshal's perspective, and Sirius' end arc.

The story was steamier and filled with a lot of action and heartache. The pace was well clipped and the dialogue and text was written beautifully. I'm sad to know there will only be one more in this series but at the same time I'm glad: My heart can't take any more of Pippa DaCosta's delicious brand of pain!
