I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
emotional

reflective

medium-paced
5.0
One of the best memoirs/biographies ive read. Very reflective and not holding back but doesnt feel like its just saying things for shock value, feels like everything in there is there for a purpose- paints an impressively complex picture
‘She need us to be nothing without her.’
‘She need us to be nothing without her.’
‘Child stardom is a trap, a dead end.’
‘Her happiness came at the cost of mine.’
‘Grief is a great scapegoat.’
‘The years youre supposed to spend building character, i spent building characters.’
‘Why do we romanticise the dead?’
