Angels at the Table by Debbie Macomber

4.0

Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy return with an apprentice angel named Will in tow. Of course Gabriel is not informed that the trio have taken Will to New York with them to watch the New Year"s Eve festivities in Times Square. Lucie Farara is in the crowd with her girlfriends who have dragged her out to have some fun. Just before the ball drops, she loses track of her friends and meets Aren Fairchild. When the ball drops - and Will intervenes - they share their first kiss. It seems to be love at first sight and they decide to meet a week later at the top of the Empire State Building after they have both had a chance to figure out if their feelings are real. There is one big problem. Lucie and Aren were supposed to meet, but not for another year. Shirley, Goodness, Mercy and Will have to try and fix this problem while trying very hard to follow the rules, not easy for them. This is a great story to read curled up under a blanket, sipping some hot cocoa, while the snow falls outside. It is sweet and sad and funny. The perfect Christmas treat!
