Fable by Adrienne Young

4.0

You know, this was a fun book to read, with the highlight being the setting! I loved the beach/ ocean/ pirate element that the author went for! Young did a wonderful job immersing the reader while making sure that everything “Pirate-ty” was being explained (Heaven knows I don’t know the first thing about sailing the seven seas!).

But also, I did want to note, that I felt like I had read this story before- just with a different title, setting, and character names.

Within the first few pages I had a sense of what was going to happen. Abandoned girl looking to prove herself has a specific goal in mind. Along the way she meets a distant-brooding- attractive male who happens to be her same age. When said girl finally reaches her goals it’s not what she expected and she realized that the path she is actually suppose to take is with with the attractive boy.

Again, I don’t mean to diss on this book, I enjoyed Adrienne Young’s writing style as well as the beautiful setting she created- but I did feel like I had read this story a million other times.

If you’re looking for a fun, short, easy read I would highly recommend! I did enjoy my time with this book!

P.S. where can I find myself an attractive boy who will kiss me underwater
