I was so close to rating this book 4.5⭐️ The romance (cooking aside) was impeccable and all of the main characters were written as genuinely good people.
Speaking of, Leo was a GEM 🖤 We love a toxic teddy bear that I strongly believe I could fix if he was real.

I just.... For context, I'm staunchly ACAB, but I usually don't have an issue tolerating cop romances. I decided to give this book a chance expecting that it would be a cop ROMANCE, but what I got was a COP romance. I hope that makes sense.

Unfortunately, the major catalyst in this "romance" was a cop killing a teenager. I still cant make it make sense. There is no logic that I can reach for that helps me understand why that was necessary or appropriate, really.
I also can't uncouple that from the weird and seemingly pandering CoHo line. There are all kinds of icky connections you could make there, none of which I want anything to do with.
