It Starts with Us by Colleen Hoover

3.0

I gave this book 3 stars because I really loved the first book, it Ends with us, if you ask me to rate this book individually I am afraid this book hardly deserves 2 star

I am pretty sure you must have already seen 1000s posts of this book on bookstagram so I won't bore you with many details, just sharing what I felt about this book.

I did not enjoy reading this book as much as I did It ends with us, It starts with us, is surely written for Atlas fandom and sometimes it felt a little more than cringy (I am sorry, I have seen like 1000s TikTok and now it has started feeling cringy than cute) It ends with us was written for Lilly, & it was perfect. When I was reading it ends with us, I was more invested in Lilly story, her trauma and her healing process, sure there was a love angle but it was not the focus of the book. Lilly did emerge as a strong character at the end of it ends with us, The ending was left to our own imagination...

Another thing that I dislike about this book apart from Ryle is, Lilly. I am sorry to say but Lilly does not trust Ryle (no one should) so why didn't she go legal and put him in prison (HE DESERVES IT) later when she wanted to be with Atlas and Ryle wanted his family back, they both used their daughter's custody to threat each other... & honestly Ryle is the most confused character I ever came across, at one point he hated Lilly and Atlas relationship but as soon as Atlas say some things (SOME BASIC SH*T) he is completely okay with their relationship...

The only good thing in this book was Allyssa maybe?
