this was one of my highly anticipated reads of this year and it was a unfortunately a let down.. normally i'm a sucker for the faking date trope but this one didn't quite hit the spot. the writing felt very wattpaddy/cringey at times especially when the mc would quote tropes. (the second hand embarrassment) there were cute moments scattered within the novel but even those didn't have me smiling/blushing as other books have made me. it was a mediocre read at best, i didn't completely hate it there were moments that i enjoyed which is the only reason i'm not giving it two stars, and i would not recommend unless very (and i mean very) cheesy and cringe romcoms are your niche. 

(the smut was so bad y'all 💀 do not listen to booktok i've read better smut on ao3)
