Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?: Big Questions from Tiny Mortals about Death by Caitlin Doughty

funny informative lighthearted fast-paced

5.0

I love this book! It's incredibly informative, enlightening, educational, and funny!
The author answers questions and talks about the process of death and dead bodies, which may come across as morbid, but she teaches us that it's okay to be curious and helps us to be less fearful or anxious about the inevitable that we share across all countries and walks of life, adding a sense of humour to the dark subject to lift the mood.
Talking about humour, I laughed hard at some of the comments made (I'm looking at you Snickers McMuffin & Hammibal Lecter). I find that having a sense of humour not only aids in learning, helping you learn way more & remember better, but it also eases away any awkwardness or tension from the subject matter.
But that's not to say she isn't respectful, because she 100% is! As a mortician herself, she knows the ins and outs of the business, and you can tell how much respect she has for the industry as a whole, and I now have even more respect for the individuals in the business myself.
Non-fiction books can be boring, but this one certainly isn't. It's easy to fly through and it's fun. I love the little pieces of artwork throughout too, they're cool.
If you're curious, even just a little bit, I honestly recommend giving this book at least a try, I promise you won't regret it.
