1st read: Loved the simple premise. As an early work, King hasn’t settled into his signature style, but there are hints throughout. I enjoyed the minimal worldbuilding and the focus on the boys in the moment. Garraty isn’t the most thrilling narrator, but the ever-changing dynamics between the Walkers are captivating. Some really devastating movements.
2nd read: McVries :((((
Graphic: Body horror, Death, and Suicide
Moderate: Sexism, Excrement, and Vomit
Minor: Ableism and Racism
