DNFed by page 216. Honestly I’m surprised I stuck with it this long... I’ve tried to read it for almost a year and it’s just a slog to get through. I watched the movie before I got the book and I was expecting some action thriller about Abraham Lincoln and vampires and instead I got a homophobic historical retelling of racism in America. *sighs heavily* Blaming vampirism on non-existent lesbians was too much. I did my best to finish this for my book club but in the end I figured it would be better if I just moved on to something I’ll actually enjoy.
