Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

dark reflective slow-paced

4.5

Overall, this book was easy to fall in love with. Every character is interesting, there is hardship, tragedy, and mystery around every corner, and the atmosphere is very spooky. I didn't expect to dock the story any points, but it felt like it lost it's way toward the end, lingering on some points that could have been shorter.

It certainly starts slowly, but remember this book is written as if it's a memoir, so we get a lot of Jane Eyre growing up at the beginning, which is more just watching her interesting life rather than following a plot. I found it very enjoyable though and would definitely recommend it.
