If you like soulmates, vampires, a bit of a mystical/magical element, and some conflict then you may enjoy this. Dual POV. Insta love. In the present she’s 34 and he’s a vampire, so old. She read a bit young to me though. The beginning is them in the early days, when they first meet. It was a little slow for me in getting invested in the characters so took some time to get into but the present time was good right away. The beginning parts felt more like a prologue type and I felt I was being told their interactions rather than shown which is why it took my a bit. It’s extra supernatural-y in the present with him as a vamp and her with powers. There are a handful of sex scenes, some more detailed than others. Him learning and experiencing current technology was hilarious. This is mainly character driven more so than plot but there is a plot as well.
Only thing that really bothered me (and not saying it’s something that should have been different, just how I read) was the amount of ! used. My mind reads distinct character voices and all the ! were throwing me off bc I read it as yelling in a certain tone and it took away from the story a bit for me but I eventually got my brain to corporate in just ignoring them. It could use a tad more editing/proof reading but it wasn’t to the point where it was unreadable; just some things missed here and there.
CW: rape (mentioned, not graphic or in the present), physical abuse, self harm, murder
