I was so excited to read this! The Elfhome series is one of my favorite escapes.I did enjoy this installment but I feel like it pales a bit compared to the awesomeness of Tinker.
While this is set in the same universe, the characters are new and very young (age 9). I feel like the author struggled a bit with their age. They start out sounding a very young and innocent 9, then start acting more like 18 year olds mid-way. I know, child geniuses, but there was a bit too much habdwaving on how brilliant they are, imo.
I look forward to the next book when I hope these kids meet up with the characters from book one.
