Fair Catch by CE Ricci

5.0

Kason is in need of a roommate for his senior year at Leighton U and he makes a horrible first impression on his soon to be roommate, Hayes. These two are so incompatible as roommates at the beginning, but they find common ground to make a “fair catch.” It’s been a while since I’ve almost cried when I finished a book. Hayes and Kason have my heart and I never want it back. These two were different from what I was expecting based on the beginning of the book, but they exceeded any expectations and were just incredible. These two reminded me of River and Rain because they had outside factors trying to tear them apart and had to work their way past those obstacles. Both of these couples had gut wrenching conflict that was necessary for their growth and relationship development but hurt nonetheless. Because of those similarities it was just nostalgic a little bit. Hayes and Kason warmed my heart and made me giddy with their arcade games and horror movie watching dates. And I cannot eat buttered popcorn the same ever again. CE Ricci blows me away with her writing.
ALSO! I loved the cameos of the couples from the previous two books. That made the whole experience of Fair Catch even more amazing.
