Bloody Heart by Sophie Lark

5.0

I was not expecting to love Dante based on how I saw him in the other books. He was standoffish and didn’t appear to be present much. Except that man loved and cared for his family so much and it just never fully came across because of how his heart was broken. I was team Dante the whole time. He loved Simone and was gentle and kind to her. And the way he took care of her was exceptional. Even though I loved Simone and their relationship and understood why she made the decisions she did, I was not okay with her making Dante feel unworthy of love and not enough. I wanted more groveling for what she did but it made sense that Dante was so forgiving because of how much he loved Simone.
