Jason Reynolds doesn't miss. It took me a long time to get my hands on this book, but it had me gripped within the first few poems. His writing is so straight-forward and beautiful in its simplicity. Every word, every pause, every line break intentional and powerful. A gripping read, and a humanizing lens into the daily trauma of gun violence in communities and families.
