Emmaline wants to take her creativity and apply it to her job. Knox is trying to keep a tight rein on his feelings. He seemed to be having a hard time with controlling the urge to poke at a sleeping bear. These two are having to learn how to work together without going against policy.

The author has created a female character that is strong – and I don’t mean physically. She’s had to learn to cope with something out of her control. It will tug at your heart. Then we get to see her vulnerable side. I think that’s what sets our two main characters apart.

She also piqued my interest in some of her secondary characters. I needed to know if they have their own story. But that wasn’t enough to get me to stop reading – investigations can come later. I wanted to see what Knox was going to do and nothing was going to stop me. This was one of those stories where it was wanting to see what the male character was going to do as we wait to see if there was going to be a happy ending. This author didn’t disappoint.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
