3.5
I've been meaning to get around to reading this book for years! And I am quite glad I finally did! This book is fast-paced and tense, it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. On the surface, it is a well-written murder thriller novel with a twist. But look inside and a whole new word of themes are presented to you. Interwoven are themes on femininity, sisterhood, sexual trauma, and so much more. A great read perfect for at the beach or pool-side!
Minor: Sexual violence
While it is not prominently displayed in this work, sexual violence is mentioned in a few chapters towards the end of the novel. It is not graphic but just as a heads up.
