The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes

Not going to rate this because my personal enjoyment level conflicts with the level of meaning that is present and that I get (it'd be like a 3 vs 4.25 stars, I'm not saying that I didn't like this collection). I personally like poetry to be more descriptive or about more abstract things. Hughes has quite a few poems here that are just portraits of people and life, which has a lot of meaning, but doesn't personally do it for me. I would love to hear the poems in a song because they sound so nice too.

My favorite poems here: "Cabaret," "Dream Variation," "Fantasy in Purple," "Beggar Boy," "Suicide's Note," "Poem (To F.S.)," and "Epilogue." Honorary mention to "Cross."
