Absolute perfection. I read this in 24 hours only stopping to sleep because I could. not. put. it. down. This is going to be one of those series that sticks in our shared cultural consciousness, like Harry Potter or The Hunger Games, but, you know, more adult. Violet is my favorite kind of heroine - she has a thorn in her flesh to overcome but mentally and emotionally she’s the strongest character in the book, worthy of the other characters’ loyalty and now my own. Yarros foreshadows everything perfectly - you know something’s coming but you’ll never guess exactly what it is. I read this on kindle and then immediately bought a hard copy and pre-ordered the sequel because this series is going to be one of my new favorites, guaranteed. Take all my money, Rebecca Yarros.
