The Sweet Scent of Blood by Suzanne McLeod

4.0

Fast-paced, dark, with flashes of very dry humor. World-building is intricate. Gen is a pretty well-developed character and will become more so over time, I assume. Secondary characters were interesting, but very secondary to Gen. Reminds me a bit of Anne Rice meets Kim Harrison, but I wouldn't call this derivative. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to the next in the series.
