Kitty Confidential by Molly Fitz
4.0
One little misstep with an ancient coffeemaker and Angie Russo finds herself talking to the animals, or rather, merely one animal: a cat whose owner has just died and left him a considerable legacy. It's up to Angie and the cat with five first-names to solve the puzzle of who wanted the sweet old lady dead.
I'm crazy about cats, but Octo-cat didn't hit my sweet spot. Despite this, I did find myself gripped with Angie's ply as she attempted to solve the murder. Angie really didn't have a technique, but she found creative ways to question people without causing suspicion. There was a nice little plot twist which added to the intrigue.
As well as being a cautionary tale about the use of appliances past their sell-by dates, this cosy is a comfortable read providing several hours of entertainment.
