I gobbled this book up, read it in a day (more or less), and I fully vibed the entire time. Eldas? Absolute babe, just simply adores his plant girlfriend. We Stan an enemies to lovers. Hades and Persephone inspired throughout. Luella? Iconic. A sassy bitch. We love her. Not too 🌶️spicy🌶️ either which was good actually, it didn't give me the ick which can happen.
Only reason it's not a 4 is some of the phrases were not it (there was one description of Eldas's eyes that I was like mmm did we really have to describe them like that? I can't remember the exact quote and I will not go looking for it but there was something about sharks in murky pools of blue or something idk and I'm like was this necessary?) But did I enjoy this book? Yes, did I then go subscribe to Elise Kova's newsletter so I could get the bonus scene? Yes I very much did. I'd give it a reread, probably. I just quite like fantasy romance, apparently lmao
