Nightfall by Robert Silverberg, Isaac Asimov

4.0

Absolutely Fantastic!
Since I was heavily into Fantasy, a while back I planned to read more Sci FI too. Since I knew that Issac Asimov was highly regarded in the genre, I decided to start there
After doing a bit of research into classic Sci FI, this lesser known work of his suddenly caught my eye and the premise instantly had me sold!
I could not have had a more satisfying foray into the genre

Now onto the actual book
The strongest parts of the book, imo, was the plot & the concept & it's exploration of the idea it sets out to discuss. The way the book explores how humanity reacts to big, literally existential crisis is absolutely fantastic. And tho I didn't intend it, it was also kinda relevant in Covid age.
It also discusses almost philosophical questions which again I really liked
As an extra note, the book is also suprisingly well made in the sense that it explains everything and doesn't leave many plot holes. Pacing too, is pretty good
The weaker parts on the of the books on the flip side was probably characters. They again weren't bad by any means but they were not phenomenal either and were MOSTLY archetypical. The style was also *kind of* off probably because the book is a bit old so didn't have many modern features and stuff

A solid 4/5
