Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney
5.0
This book had such a huge hold on me to the point I was in absolute shock
Let's start with the writing okay. The writing was an absolute masterpiece. All the characters were written so creatively and so well. I absolutely loved that the book had SO MANY TWIST AND TURNS which was SO GOOD!! I loved how this book always had me thinking and questioning so much about how it would end but I just couldn't. I loved that It had me thinking that Her husband did it to Edward but I never expected Claire to be the one that made her. The whole diary entries was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. The way it was written that made me think that it was Amber writing them and not Claire. That was just written absolutely well. I also loved the nursery rhymes element in the book. It gave an eerie feeling which gave a whole different experience to the book.
Amber Taylor Reynolds Her character was written so well. I loved how her relationship with Claire really changed her life completely. How Claire waltz her way into her life and become her so called "sister" because Claire has always wanted her life. How her parents preferred Claire over Taylor as their daughter. How in the end she didn't want Claire in her life. Not as a friend and definitely not as her sister.
The sound of the twins crying shatters the silence. I lean down closer to the bed, hoping she can hear them. All day long. I whisper in her ear, ‘Two peas in a pod.’
THIS part had me absolutely shook. I have mixed feelings to the whole Amber murdering her Claire the same Claire murdered her parents.
All in all I absolutely loved this book.
