Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan
adventurous
sad
medium-paced
4.0
Liked the characters and the way Callahan was able to depict the psychological effects of trauma. Felt a little rushed towards the end, but overall very good. I learned a lot about an unknown part of history for me. Appreciated that there wasn’t a romance that overtook the main storyline.
Graphic: Death, Medical trauma, Child death, Injury/Injury detail, and Grief
Moderate: Slavery, Physical abuse, Death of parent, Domestic abuse, and Fire/Fire injury
Minor: Sexual assault and Rape
